Redesign of bi-monthly journal
This 20 year-old journal was ready for an updated design. The goal of the redesign was to add more interest to the journal which was mostly all copy, make it look more modern and ultimately help increase readership. I wanted to maintain some consistency with the old journal so I continued with the bright, memorable color palette.
For more visual interest, I selected black and white photography for the cover. The images are very stark, almost abstract and help to convey the subject matter covered in each issue. I also updated the interior and created icons to illustrate the different topics being covered. The grid allows for three columns instead of two, with solid colored callout boxes breaking the grid and heavy areas of text.

Email version of the journal was also updated to incorporate the new design.
